A public holiday, national holiday or legal holiday is a holiday generally established by law and is usually a non-working day during the year. This page contains public holidays sorted by years.   • Belarus, officially the Republic of Belarus formerly known by its Russian name Byelorussia, is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe bordered by Russia to the northeast, Ukraine to the south, Poland to the west, and Lithuania and Latvia to the northwest
  • National holidays in Belarus are classified into state holidays and other holidays and commemorative days, including religious holidays. Nine of them are non-working days
  • Employees are entitled a day off for a national holiday with pay
  • Employees that work on national holiday must give a choice of an additional day off or special pay rate for the day they work, this usually stated in employment contract
  • Holidays falls on weekend not moving to following work day. Presidential Decree can made announcement for additional holiday but this is rare case
