A public holiday, national holiday or legal holiday is a holiday generally established by law and is usually a non-working day during the year. This page contains public holidays sorted by years. Notes
– In Thailand, Public Holidays also referred as “traditional” holidays.
– Buddhism is the predominant religion and practiced by over 90 percent of Thai Citizen
– Employees are entitled to at least 13 paid holidays per year by Thai Labour Code
– Bank of Thailand regulates bank holidays, it might slight different from the government
– If the actual date of the holiday falls on a weekend, the following Monday would be granted as a substitute holiday
– Employee entitle for double pay (double-time) if they required to work on a Public Holiday
– Alcohol is not served on religious holidays

5 MayFriCoronation Day or วันฉัตรมงคล (Wan Chattra Mongkhon) - Commemorates the coronation of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1950
10 MayWedVisakha Bucha Day or วันวิสาขบูชา (Wan Wisakha Bucha) - Buddhist observance commemorating the birth, enlightenment and passing of the Buddha. Also observed as National Tree Day. Date varies depending on the lunar cycle
