A public holiday, national holiday or legal holiday is a holiday generally established by law and is usually a non-working day during the year. This page contains public holidays sorted by years. – The Greek Constitution recognizes Eastern Orthodoxy as the “prevailing” faith of the country, while guaranteeing freedom of religious belief for all

– Most employees are allow to observed Catholic and Orthodox religious holidays with time off for these observances
– According to Greek Law, every Sunday throughout the year is a Public Holiday
– A public holiday that occurs on a Sunday is not transferred to another date
– If an employee is required to work on public holiday or Sunday, they are entitle for premium pay which is regular salary + 75% of regular salary
– Changing season time off for employees is common practice in Greece, this including March Equinox, June Solstice, September Equinox and December Solstice
