A public holiday, national holiday or legal holiday is a holiday generally established by law and is usually a non-working day during the year. This page contains public holidays sorted by years.   • Austria or officially the Republic of Austria is a federal republic and a landlocked country of over 8.7 million populations in Central Europe
  • Public Holidays in Austria are regulated by the Federal Act Regulating Weekly Rest Periods and Public Holidays of 2010
  • 8 December is a very important day for Austria, all employer are prohibits to request workers to work on December 8
  • Military move or deploying of troops by the government on December 8 is also prohibited
  • If Public Holidays falls on regular working day / weekday, employees are entitled to receive a day off with pay
  • For Public Holidays that falls on a rest day, such as Sunday, employees are getting no pay holiday
  • Holidays falling on a Saturday and Sunday are not substitute by a weekday
